About Me
I am a Graphic Designer based in Surrey, with over 20 years of industry experience in agency and in-house roles, as well as freelance and pro-bono work, following my degree at the Surrey Institute of Art and Design (now the University for the Creative Arts).
Art has played a major role in my life from a very early age; drawing, painting, sculpting, creating collages, making greetings cards for anyone I knew... This developed into a love of graphic design during my art foundation course, but I still take great pleasure drawing and painting. Creativity is a part of who I am, I love to sing as part of an a cappella group who regularly perform at concerts and charity events. I also love to write poetry and children's books (@booksbyoctavia) and have written a best-selling series of children's books
Identity design, illustration and print design are where I thrive, my skills extend to design for digital media with experience in creating HTML emails and website design. Photography is a keen hobby as well as a useful business skill and I'm very competent at photo retouching.
Confident, outgoing and approachable, I relish being part of a creative team and have excellent interpersonal skills; I'm also very comfortable working on my own.
